3 Tips to tell Intuition from Intellect…

Intuition.

It’s one of the MOST wonderful tools available to a woman. I use it daily in my practice – from getting to the real root of a client’s troubles, conveying messages from your long-gone relatives, or receiving hits on what to eat for lunch.

While that may sound flashy, it’s actually quite soft and surprisingly subtle in reality.

Unfortunately there are so many myths about this (very common) skill-set that I’ll guarantee you’re missing most of your intuitive opportunities on a regular basis.

While I believe everyone’s got a bit of psychic chutzpah within them, the innate potential of someone’s intuitive abilities can vary dramatically from human to human.

Not everyone’s got the left brain to be a successful accountant. Not everyone’s got the right build to be great ballet dancer. And not everyone is born to be a super-duper psychic.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t develop some pretty powerful (and uber-useful) abilities, regardless.

So here are 3 tips to help you spot those subtle, intuitive hits — so you can begin to allow, trust, and follow them more and more each day.

Are you excited to get started? Here we go:

1. Notice how you FEEL.

Everyone experiences intuitive information very differently. Some get “gut-feelings;” some feel shifts in their emotions; some have psychic dreams; and some hear messages (which, FYI, sound exactly like normal brain chatter). Some even get sensations in their body.

The most important thing to begin differentiating is how your intuitive experiences FEEL vs. your typical day-to-day cerebral ramblings, fluctuating emotions, and usual aches-n-pains.

There is a very subtle distinction (very, very, VERY subtle for most of us!) that’s important to pay attention to. To be honest, it can feel almost identical to your normal shtick. If you’re not on the lookout for them, most likely you’re missing them entirely. That’s just how subtle they actually are.

For those of you like me who weren’t raised in psychic families or in environments where this ability was nurtured, it can be easy to ride it off entirely. Those who had parents skilled at, or open to, intuitive insights have a far easier time accepting and acknowledging them.

Until my 20’s, I had 0 belief that I had any intuitive abilities whatsoever. But when I began following these 3 steps, and tuning my awareness and sensitivities, everything changed. And now it’s 90% of all the work I do with people — from Feng Shui to Intuitive Mentoring.

2. Notice the type of INFORMATION.

Lastly, you want to start understanding the difference between brain chatter and genuine intuitive hits. In my experience, they sound pretty darn identical, which can make it tricky to differential the two. So here’s some ways to tell if you’re getting psychic insights or the typical brain-burp, instead:

Intuitive information often falls into 3 different categories: A. Surprising and B. Out-of-Place, C. Compassionate.

Heres’ what I mean:

A. Surprising Information: This is when you receive messages that go against what you might normally think or believe. For example, when I ask questions of Source (or my “Spiritual Team”), often their answers literally surprise me — suggesting, nudging or encouraging me to do, say or act in a way different than what my brain would be inclined to do (if left to my own silly devices.)

B. Compassionate Information: The information coming from Source energy is always, always, ALWAYS kind, compassionate and oh-so-unconditionally loving. If the information you receive doesn’t have a core root in innate goodness, you’re probably just hearing your sneaky, sabotaging brain instead.

C. Out-Of-Place Information: When you receive random intuitive hits throughout your day, they often will pop out of nowhere – without any link to the current topic or activity. Perhaps Aunt Sally comes to mind while brushing your teeth; or a major deadline pops into your head while doing the dishes; or maybe you get a great insight for your work while taking a shower. Be on the lookout (and pay attention to) those things that seemingly come out of nowhere.

3. Notice the RESULTS.

Here’s the Piéce de Résistance of the 3 tips today: RESULTS!
Here’s what I mean: You want to start paying attention to those amazing moments when you get a correct “hit” (vs. times when your brain is merely rambling) – a way to start making important psychic distinctions.

When did your gut-feelings lead to toward a great experience or opportunity? When did you think of someone out of the blue, and moments later they called, emailed or were mentioned in conversation? When did that pain in your back actually belong to the person sitting beside you at dinner?

Taking note of seeming “coincidences” is like taking your psychic muscles to the gym — a critical step in strengthening your intuition. The more you can put 2-and-2 together, the more buffed your awareness AND your abilities will become.

Intuition-Boosting Activity:

This week, start a journal and begin jotting down any-and-all unusual, mysterious or intriguing experiences. Below each item, write down #1, 2 and 3 — leaving room to explore your insights around the FEEL, the INFORMATION, and the RESULTS you notice.

Tracking your progress, staying focused, and bringing greater awareness to the subtleties of your life is a crucial next step — if you want to become more psychic, that is.

I hope this helps you begin deepening your own natural gifts. Because the stronger these skills, the more you can use them to guide your life.

Those who allow Source information to lead the way end up experiencing a journey with more miracles, more joy, more creativity and more WOW! than 10,000 mere mortals combined.

In future articles, we’ll talk about ways to start fine-tuning your psychic radio channel — and turning up the divine volume so your intuitive antenna gets better and better reception.

But first, simply be on the lookout for the 3 tips above.
