Discomfort: Your New BFF!

Redefining What Being Unstoppable Should FEEL Like

Have you ever done something REALLY fulfilling that wasn’t a bit scary – at least at the start?

That’s what I thought: because it’s not possible!

When it comes to building your business, comfort is NOT a great thing. In fact, being “comfortable” can be dreadful for living out your mission.

The reason most fulfilling things actually ARE fulfilling is because you know you’ve pushed bravely through a limitation, block or hurdle –– and have come out safe-n-sound on the other side.

Think about it for sec: If it were easy, it wouldn’t be as rewarding to conquer, now would it?

Now, I’m not condoning struggling, or stressing out your body… Far from it. But I AM telling you that if you don’t feel uncomfortable, you are NOT stretching yourself, or living out your mission.

For myself, my clients, and my colleagues, it’s NEVER easy-peasy to up-level your life. The brain throws outright hissy-fits when it comes to stepping outside the boundaries of the “familiar”.

Unfortunately most women are waiting for things to “feel right” before they begin. I do plenty of intuitive work myself, and I know how important those gut feelings can be. But I also know that most women are completely misinterpreting these signals when it comes to their own life and goals.

Let me lift the curtain for a moment and let you take a peek inside:

Never once, when doing something that would really stretch me into the next stratosphere, did I feel anything CLOSE to comfortable. Honestly, I was downright terrified each and every time.

I wanted to pee my pants when I started shooting my TV show. I want to run away from home every time I launch a new program. I want to hide under the bed whenever I have to deal with anything new, basically.

But that’s my head talking, not my heart.

The following can be a great exercise to try out if you’re at the place where you’re ready for a big change: Try looking at your situation, and imagining that you had 0 fears, and 0 limitations. If money, chutzpah and time were of no consequence — if your Soul were unleashed without any limitations — what would SHE answer? How would SHE feel?

Because let me tell ya: after working with SO many women, I can tell you 1 thing for sure: Whatever terrible thing you THINK might happen, or whatever awful consequence you think might be waiting around the bend, is never a reality.

BUT…

If you want hell on purpose: try staying stuck for a while. I guarantee that not-so-hot results will flock to you like pigeons on a loaf of bread if you take that stagnant path instead.

You will NEVER feel ready.
You will never feel GOOD enough.

Why’s that?

Here’s what’s actually happening when you’ve gotten your panties into a twist: Your brain is trying to keep you ALIVE! That’s all. (And unless you’re living in the tiger-cage at the zoo during feeding time, you’re probably pretty hunky-dory. )

The mind is just a computer – not who you are at your core. It’s a computer designed to keep you from jumping in front of busses, and being eaten by bears. And if you buy into it’s well-meaning (but totally lousy) advice, you will live a small, brittle life waiting for invisible monsters to consume you at every turn.

But, when you treat your brain like a radio – allowing it’s rants to become nothing more than white-noise in the background of your life – then you don’t end up believing it’s stinkin-thinkin. You let it throw it’s natural fits when you’re stepping into something new –– and keep moving forward, no matter what spooky stories she tells you.

You would NEVER spin the radio dial randomly, and then live out the rest of your life by the words-o-wisdom pouring out of that box, now would you? Well, the same advice goes for your brain, too.

You do NOT have to listen to your mind. In fact, I HIGHLY encourage you to ignore it completely!

Let your Soul guide your sweet ship –– never your wee, small, scared brain.

THAT, my dear, is how Unstoppables do all the wild things they do. And they can do it all with love, purpose, boldness and heart.

So make it a new goal to feel uncomfortable every day – that will show you how far you’re stretching, growing and expanding into your most divine self. And that always, always, always feels pretty gosh darn GREAT!
